  9-11 Memorial

The Garden of Remembrance at the corner of Beech and Virginia Streets is dedicated to those from the barrier island who lost their lives during the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The Garden was designed by a Committee of West End Neighbors, led by then-President Denise Ford, with the cooperation of the City of Long Beach.

The steel for the Towers sculpture was donated to West End Neighbors specifically for the Garden by a worker at the WTC site.  The plaque was courtesy of John Radin, Sr., and the rock was procured locally in Freeport, NY.
