Beach Survey

       A survey of the West End beach entrances was done  by the WEN at the beginning of the summer season. Many were found to be in need of improvement.  WEN contacted the City, and some improvements were done, for which WEN is grateful. Like so many things that have constant use, beach entrances require constant maintenance. 

       We would like to hear what you, as beach users, think of the current conditions of your particular beach entrance and what improvements you suggest.

A.  Are you satisfied with the beach entrance and condition?

B.  Have the wooden stairs, ramps and handrails been removed?

C.  If so, has Mr. Boardwalk (moveable wooden slatted mat) been installed?

D.  Do you find Mr. Boardwalk easy to walk on?

E.   With stairs eliminated, do you find it more difficult to climb up and down and over the dunes on Mr. Boardwalk?

F.  Do you find the beach entrance is often covered in sand?

G.  Does Mr. Boardwalk lay flat where it meets the street?

H.  Do you feel unsteady stepping on and off of Mr. Boardwalk?

I.   Would you like for Mr. Boardwalk to extend farther out to the end of the dune?

L.  Do you often find garbage, bottles, and cans at the entrance and on the dunes?

M.  Do workers at entrances diligently check beach passes?

N.  Do you find people entering the beach before opening to avoid paying?

O.  Would you favor beach sweeps just prior to beach opening to insure beach users have passes or are paying customers?

P.  Do you favor replacing current passes with wrist bands or some other means that would be easier to identify those who are in compliance?
